Message from Chairman
Youth Photographic Society, Bengaluru, is one of the oldest and most prestigious Photography Clubs
in India established in 1971. As of now, the Society boasts of 287 Life Members, 580 registered
Individual members and 30 Junior Associates. Numerous members of our Club are internationally
acclaimed photographers. We are proud that we hold the highest number of international distinction
holders in the country and look forward to flourishing further.
YPS has held 37 All India and 10 International salons and currently gearing towards the 11th International Salon, 2020.
We were excited to have the exclusive category of cost-free participation from youth up to 18 years of age. We were truly encouraged by the number of entries received from across India. This astounding success was possible only because I had the privilege of working with a talented, thoughtful and diligent team. I am grateful for their insights and superb work.
It was exciting to have the Salon Judging process go live and available as a webcast for all the participants and photography lovers across the globe, which is the first of its kind in the country, if not the world, as per our knowledge.
We are extremely thankful to all the 252 participants who submitted 2611 wonderful pictures for the Salon. I congratulate each of you for the magnificent and stunning pictures! The entire Team is proud of the same.
The in-house developed Salon Judging software was also fine-tuned and accentuated with few more features based on the feedback from our Judges of the previous YPS International Salon.
We pledged our commitment to the Digital Economy of the country by digitally processing all the payments, made by the participants and sponsors, through the seamless digital payment gateway on our website.
Open-Judging, a transparent process, where the participants not only have the opportunity of viewing their scores live but also assessing where each picture ranks/stands throughout the process. The distinguished jury, all of whom are eminent photographers themselves, conducted the evaluation of the images with great conscience and unbiased expertise to which I am deeply indebted.
I am extremely honoured to be the Salon Chairman for the 3rd consecutive time and thank the YPS Executive Committee and the All India Salon Committee for trusting me in the execution of the Salon. This definitely increases the responsibility shouldered on me.
As the Chairman of the YPS 37th All India Salon, I feel honoured and thank the photography fraternity for contributing to the salon and making it a huge success! For us who have been planning and working in the committee; there has been a lot of work, a tremendous amount of enjoyment and an amazing feeling of work well accomplished. I would like to convey my heartfelt thanks to the Award Sponsors, Print Sponsors - Technova, All the Media Partners, who immensely supported towards the success of the Salon. I thank our own YPS Executive Committee and my adherent & steadfast Salon Committee members for their commitment to excel. Mr. Srinivas Bhajanehatti, is fondly referred to as "Dhronacharya" of Wildlife Photographers in Bangalore. He had guided and helped many amateur photographers participate in Salons and win International Distinctions. He was one of the best experts in printing and provided printing services to all the leading photographers of his time. His printing skill in Black and White as well as in Color has helped nearly 32 photographers in achieving 48 various international distinctions. His interest in wildlife and photography started during his high school days in 1976. His father, a professional photographer himself, was his first Guru. Later on when he started learning from Shri. C Rajagopal, his photography and printing skills soared to new heights. Under his guidance and encouragement, shri B Srinivas participated in many salons and won innumerable awards. He achieved his international distinctions from RPS and FIAP at a young age of 35, possibly among the youngest to achieve this honor.
He has to his credit more than 550 acceptances, 50 awards and 46 certificates in National Salons and 196 acceptances, 23 Honorable Mentions, 18 awards in International Salons. He has been a judge for FIAP distinctions continuously from 1990. He was also on the panel of jury of many National and International Salons.
He was part of the team of jury in many Salons, notably the World Cup held in Bangalore in 2014. As photography moved from films and prints to digital, he too moved to the digital world quite late in his carer. At 65, his passion for photography is still burning bright.

A.G.Lakshminarayan started his photographic journey in 1972 and learnt photography from the world famous pictorial photographer late Dr. D.V.Rao. He is a specialist in creative photography, macro and bird photography. A specialist in photoshop, he conducted many digital post processing workshops for beginners and advanced photographers.
He concentrated only in the creative sections of international salons and got 69 awards and over 600 acceptances. His works were exhibited all over the world. He had been a judge in many Salons and contributed articles to many reputed Kannada magazines.

After three decades of career in State Bank of India and Uttaranchal Gramin Bank, Mr. Threesh Kapoor founded The Himalaya Study Centre and Retreat at Kausani, Uttarakhand. He is a Photographer, Social Activist and Himalayan Mountaineer. Threesh is a life member of FIP and Honorary Member of India International Photography Council. He has been part of jury for many National and International Photography Exhibitions. He played a key role in the formation of several Photography Clubs including Lucknow Photography Club, IIT Manakpur Camera Club and Jim Corbett Camera Club. He had contributed his works to more than 28 books.
Mr. Threesh has been honored by Lalit Kala Academy, Uttar Pradesh and Indian Katthak Academy, Lucknow for his contributions to Photography Art. He was also presented with Lifetime Achievement Award - 2007 for Photography by Lucknow Camera Club. He was invited as the member of Indian delegation to International Photography Festival Pengyao (China) in 2005.

T A Jayakumar is a keen nature and wildlife photographer. He is a specialist in Macro Photography, specializing in Butterflies, wild flowers and insects. It was a proud moment when he won Honorable Mention in the prestigious BBC Wildlife Photography Contest in 1999. He has won several awards and certificates in nattional and international salons. He was part of the jury in several YPS Salons and contests and hence is no stranger to participants of YPS Salons. He is an Information Technology specialist by profession.

MS. ANITHA MYSORE

Ms. Anitha Mysore is a Software Engineer by profession, having completed her Masters in Civil Engineering. What started as a means to capture memories for the family found its fruition with her association with Youth Photographic Society, Bengaluru in 2016. Having travelled widely on job, she is keen on travel photography and is also an avid bird photography enthusiast. She is a member of the Photographic Society of America, Global Photographic Union and International Union of Photographers.
The Salon arm of YPS had given her the much needed fillip to push her photography to new heights. She has been taking part in various National and International Salons for over two years now. Anitha Mysore was listed among the top ten of FIP’s Who’s Who for 2018. She also appeared in PSA’s Who’s Who for 2018 under the Photo Travel, Nature and Photo Journalism divisions. Apart from the above, she has won over 150 awards and 2500 acceptances in many national and international salons and competitions spread across 30 countries. She also won the Best Indian entrant award in four International Salons hosted in India.

On the Award
Note on Best Participant Award
This Salon offers a Best Participant Award and a Best YPS Participant Award.
This year, the top two performers Mr. Manju Mohan, YPS Member, and Mr. Nilesh Ganthade, General participant, were having a difference of only a few points, with Mr. Manju Mohan at the top of the points table.
In the spirit of encouraging external participation, it was decided by the YPS Salon Committee to award the Best Participant Award to both Mr. Manju Mohan and Mr. Nilesh Ganthade.
The Best YPS Participant award will still go to Mr. Manju Mohan.
We applaud the performance of both Mr. Manju Mohan and Mr. Nilesh Ganthade and wish them more successes.
