it is indeed a great feeling of successfully completing the YPS International salon 2019. I must thank all the
Participants for having taken your precious time to participate and submit your excellent work. We at the
YPS Executive Committee and Salon committee have put in our best efforts for the success of the salon.
I must congratulate all the successful Award winners, for submitting your best work, and it was a feast for the eyes. This year we could see a lot of new pictures and creative ideas. It is a record for YPS, that we received 4765 pictures from 375 participants spread across 35 countries.
Year after year YPS is making great strides by attracting larger number of participants from across the world. It is our commitment that we will maintain a high standards, be it the salon software or the transparent judging process. In this context, I must tell you that the judges had spent quality time over all the pictures submitted and discussed on every award-winning image before finalizing the awards. YPS believes in “awarding the picture” rather than the author so that every deserving picture wins an award. I personally thank all the eminent juries for their valuable judgment and look forward to having them again in our future salons. For the first time in the Indian salon’s history, the entire judging for 3 days, was telecast on live stream.
As the YPS President and Salon Chairman, I gained a lot of knowledge, in running the society and make it one of the most prestigious photographic societies. It gives me utmost satisfaction, When I see many photo artists rating YPS salons "as one of the best in the world".
I will be failing in my duty, if I don’t mention the very pride of our club – winning 50 best club awards- in All India and International salons- within a span of 15 months. It is indeed, a record among the Indian clubs and I must give 100% credit to our club members, who participated in many national and International salons and brought laurels to our society. I feel proud as a President, that in my tenure, we could create a history of this magnitude. I thank and wish all my fellow photographers, all the very best in their career, and achievements.
On this note, dear friends, I congratulate all the award winners again, and look forward to seeing many amazing images, in the years to come.

Mr. Mohammed Arfan Asif is a Hospital Pharmacist by profession and a photo artist by passion. He was born in Bangalore, India and is presently working in UAE.He is the Chapter Organizer for the Dubai Chapter of The Royal Photographic Society, UK and the Dubai Representative for Image Colleague Society International. Mr. Asif’s contributions to photography includes institution of annual Askary Awards for encouraging young photographers and Mentoring of photo enthusiasts through "Shutter Bugs Creative Forum, Dubai".
Mr. Asif's primary forte are pictorial portraiture and landscapes. He was awarded the distinctions "Artiste" of FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art) and "Associate" of The RPS (The Royal Photographic Society of UK) in 1994. He achieved the Excellence Platinum distinction of FIAP (EFIAP/p) in 2019 and Master distinction of Photographic Society of America (MPSA) in 2018.
Mr. Asif has exhibited his photographs regularly in International photography salons, exhibitions and galleries for more than three decades and has won many awards including the Grand Prix Award for Photography in Serbia, FIAP Blue Pin, Trierenberg Gold Medal, Al Thani Gold Medal, Benu Sen Memorial Award (Lucknow), the top awards in Lalithakala Academy National exhibitions in Karnataka and Gujarat, Photo of the Year Award in Germany and many PSA, FIAP, GPU, MoL, IUP, Gold medals among the 850+ awards from over 64 countries.
Mr. Asif has lectured, judged International salons and photo contests, presented workshops and has been a columnist for various publications on the art of photography. Born in 1951. SR Mandal started photography in 1970, completing 50 years in photography in 2021. He is the recipient of 10 Honorary Fellowship and 1 Master, 4 Excellence, 1 Fellow, 3 Associates & 17 Honorary Membership title from different photographic organization, all over the world. He is a winner of Nikon, Canon, Lalit Kala Academy, Lucknow Lalit Kala Academy, Gujrat Lalit Kala Academy, Photo Division and many other titles. He is the first person in the country to receive the title, Hall of Fame, from Italy, and Honorary Membership from Japan International Photographic Federation.
He has received 1250 Acceptances and 250 Awards. His works have been exhibited in 50 countries, with Awards from 15 countries. He has held 4 Solo exhibitions in India and 1 in Dhaka. He was also a member of 2 joint exhibitions in Tokyo, Japan. His works have been kept in permanent collection in UNESCO, Japan, Bangladesh, Croatia, Romania, Spain and India.
Honoured to be a jury, in 600 National, International Salons from 100 photographic organizations over 40 years. He is privileged to be a part in the Advisory Board of different photographic organizations.

Photography has been Mr. Suniel Marathe's hobby for many years. Subsequent to obtaining his Diploma in Photography from Indian Academy, Mumbai, it turned into his passion. Pictorial Photography is his main field of interest.
In the initial years, The Photographic Society of India (Psi) was the institution taught, guided and allowd Mr. Marathe to display his amateur skills. However from thereon, the Society has been a part of his journey, has remined his pillar of strength and has been providing him all the timely support and erecting a platform for him to showcase his works receiving international recognition.
Mr. Suniel Marathe has been participating in International and National photography competitions since 2008. In the decade of participation, he received 6500 Acceptances and 550 Awards from National & International Salons held in 53 countries.
He gained the much coveted MPSA honor in 2018.
He is an employee of the prestigious Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai as a Scientific Officer.
He has been nominated as the Assistant ROPA Director by PSA.
He has judged 25 National and International contests.

A 77 year old veteran in Photography and Cinematography, he has over 50 years of experience in both. During his long years of service to photography, he has served as professional cinematographer, photojournalist, teacher, administrator and mentor in several organizations. The documentary films shot by him have won many national awards.
Recipient of Karnataka Media Academy Award, he served in Karnataka Lalith Kala Academy and many Govt. Organizations that promote photography. He was also awarded the prestigious Karnataka State Rajyothsava Award in 2015. He is a proud receient of Vayosreshta Sanman National Award from the President of India for outstanding contributions to creative Art and Wildlife Photography.
Over a span of 30 years more than 25000 pictures of Mr. Thippeswamy have been published in News Papers, magazines and journals. His pictures were selected 13 times in World Cup Wildlife Photography Competitions.
He has been on jury panel of countless numer of Exhibitions, Award Selectiond and Contests.
He served as an Executive Committee Member of FIP for 9 years. He continues his journey as a teacher and mentor and organizes Wildlife Photography workshops.

A K RAJU is presently the Chief Naturalist in charge of five resort properties belonging to the Little Earth Group in Ooty, Karwar and Chickmagalur. He is an acclaimed Wildlife Photographer and was proclaimed \"Nature Photographer of the Year\" by FIP in 1989. Since then he has added many awards to his credit. His works have won more than 400 acceptances. He was also very successful in product photography and has many major clients like Epson, 3M, HP, Oracle, Wipro and Titan.
MR. DIINESH KUMBLE
4 pictorial coffee table books - 3 of which for the Govt. of Gujarat, 2 pictorial pocket books, and a number of award winning images epitomizes Diinesh Kumble.
A Chemical Engineer, Diinesh turned to entrepreneurship in 1995 venturing into sports software technology, books & games publishing, photography and wildlife conservation. All these interests apart, he finds immense solitude and solace in wildlife photography.
His passion to share knowledge gained over years of on-field professional experience in photography has been imbibed by many aspiring enthusiasts who have gone on to become leading cinematographers, and film makers. His speaking engagements at various corporate entities viz. HP, Microsoft, Bosch etc., and at TEDx, PEPx, DCP Expeditions & NiF events have evoked a sense of awe.
Diinesh is the first wildlife photographer on SONY India’s “Elite Artisan" panel. He is also associated with HP large format printers, Manfrotto & GITZO brands of photographic accessories.

SALON RESULTS - CONGRATULATIONS
Salon Results were published ahead of time on July 25th. Individual results were mailed to each participant with scores for each picture along with links to upload printable files for exhibition printing. In addition, scores are also available on My Page.
Salon Best Practices
Enhance Chances of Winning
YPS used multiple guidelines and actions to ensure that the winning chances of the participants are enhanced:
- Pictures that do not qualify for any of the following reasons were notified to the participants ahead of the last date, provided the pictures were uploaded early:
- Picture content vilating the Salon Rules
- Pictures that were already accepted in past YPS Salons
- Watermarks and other personal identifications
- Pictures posted in lower resolutions
- Pictures posted under wrong sections
- Duplicate submissions of the same picture under different saections were eliminated from receiving acceptances.
Notifications for Prints
Receipt of Prints were notified as and when the prints were received. Deatils of local pinter was shared on web-site for people who wanted to save postage costs.
Verify and Correct Name and Address no later than Mon, Aug 5, 2019
Salon Certificates, Medals, Pins and Ribbons will bear the name updated by you on the Salon Website. Printed Certificates will be provided to Medal and Ribbon winners. Digital Certificate will be made available for download for other acceptances. These certificates and catalog will be received only after the conclusion of the Exhibition. Also, in the event you are unable to attend the Award Function on Sun, Aug 25, 2019, the mementos and certificates will be mailed to the address provided by you. Prints will no be returned.

Exhibition Function
Please plan to attend the Award Function on Sun, Aug 25, 2019 at Chitrakala Parishath. The Salon Exhibition is open from Sat, Aug 24, 2019 to Sun, Aug 25, 2019. Awards/Certificates will be presented to the winners during the Inaugural Function.
For those who could not attend the Inauguration Function, the Awards/Certificates will be sent through Post. We request all Award winners to Login and Update the NAME and ADDRESS using "Edit Profile" option. The same Login-ID and Password used for uploading pictures should be used for updating the above details.
